Deefah

7 year old male medium crossbreed

Deefah was one of the first surrenders at GAAR, and unfortunately has been returned due to some interdog aggression issues and a marital break-up. He is a 7 year old medium 24.1kg male crossbreed.

Deefah has been a support dog (not formally qualified for this) for the families children who suffer with autism. He has also completed a 2-week stay and learn program back in 2019.

Deefah is an old soul, happy to wander around and just do his thing. He wants to live a low fuss kind of life and enjoy park strolls, beach walks and loves with his humans. He is okay with dogs, but much prefers human company and does not want to be socialised with dogs who are full on. We will be rehoming him as an only dog due to his past experiences.

Deefah would make an ideal companion for someone who loves their dogs company and wants a low maintenance, easy going kind of dog.

Adoption fee: $350.00 includes desexing, yearly vaccination, transferred registered microchip, up to date parasite control, and on-going behavioural support through Take the Lead Canine Services.

Odie

1 year old male crossbreed

Odie, a young adventuerous 9 month old medium crossbreed is on the hunt for a forever home.

Odie has been a regular daycare client at Take the Lead Canine Services since he was a tiny pup. Every Tuesday and Thursday, he would spend his days out here on the farm with us living his best life.

Unfortunately, life changed for Odie's guardians and it meant that the best option for Odie was to come and stay on the farm until he could find his forever home. Odie is a fun, outgoing, boisterous pup who is looking for someone to spend his days with. He wants to be active - running, cycling, beach hikes, country hikes - you name it, he is up for it!

He is GREAT with other dogs, although very playful and sometimes a little overbearing. He is good with children, but can forget his size and is not suitable to a home with pocket pets and cats.

Odie has performed day trains through our training company and proves to be very intelligent, willing to learn and easily trained. He would make the perfect addition to any household looking for a new companion.

Adoption fee: $650.00 includes desexing, yearly vaccination, transferred registered microchip, up to date parasite control, and on-going behavioural support through Take the Lead Canine Services.

Leo

21-month old male Australian Kelpie

Leo recently completed a 2-week Stay and Learn program with us in June this year, however due to some issues between him and the other male dog in the household, he has been surrendered into our care.

Leo is like any other Kelpie – full of beans, loves to run and will happily chase a ball for hours! He is great with people, however he is best suited to children 12+ due to his excitability.

Leo has proven to be social with select female dogs, however due to the issues in his previous household he is best suited as an only dog.

Do you have space for this guy to run? Do you want a four-legged companion to hike and explore with? Do you want your very own running coach making sure you maintain a good pace the whole distance? If you said YES to any of these things, Leo is your man!

Karla

In the early part of Karla's life she experienced living in a home with domestic violence which has had some behavioural concerns. Karla found a wonderful family but unfortunately, she was not suitable for their lifestyle even though they tried to make it work.

Karla has been put through our extensive behavioural rehabilitation program and has made great strides. Karla now walks well on the leash, is crate trained, place trained, has solid duration obedience in and out of the facility and has blossomed in confidence since arriving.

Karla is on the look out for her final stop. A home to call her own. She is a wonderful dog who will enjoy a quiet home. She is best suited to a home as an only animal, with no small children. A place she can relax and a couple to explore with and love..

Adoption fee: $350.00 includes desexing, C5 vaccination, microchipping and parasite prevention.

Priya

Priya is a large 40kg Mastiff crossbreed who is on the lookout for her forever home. She has performed a 4-week stay and learn program through Take the Lead, but due to some inter-dog aggression with her litter mate, her guardians reluctantly made the decision to rehome her.

Priya has solid foundations of training under her belt and is responsive to our training program. She thrives off of an environment who engages with her, plays with her and treats her as an indoor family pet. Priya shows no signs of anxiety here at the facility.

Priya can be selective with other dogs, but has had a few small successful social sessions. She is best suited to an only dog home. She is not a dog who will like to go to the dog park, but have dogs all around her but she can maintain focus and engagement with her handler around other dogs.

Priya is an active girl but is also happy to curl up next to you and thrives in that type of environment. Priya is fully crate trained and is fully house trained.

Adoption fee: $650.00 includes desexing, yearly vaccination, transferred registered microchip, up to date parasite control, and on-going behavioural support through Take the Lead Canine Services.

Kira

3-year old female large Crossbreed

Hello there, my name is Kira! I'm a sweet girl in need of a calm, quiet, experienced home where my new humans understand that I'm a bit nervous at times. I need to find a home where the youngest humans are at least secondary school aged because I am big and forget my size. I can be quite a bouncy, boisterous young pup when I a comfortable with you (3 years is a pup, right?)

I have all of the foundations set as my humans put me through an intensive 5-week stay and learn. I am crate trained, place trained, have good obedience and walk nicely on a leash.

My new home MUST have a nice sized, secure yard for me and I need to be allowed indoors with the family. I am not suited to a house with other dogs, pocket pets or cats. If you think you have a quiet home, with the experience and know-how to add me to your family, please submit an application.

Adoption fee: $350.00 includes desexing, yearly vaccination, transferred registered microchip, up to date parasite control, and on-going behavioural support through Take the Lead Canine Services.
